Many people at my office know what’s best for them when it comes to their overall health, but the problem is that it continues to become only a notion and not something that they practice.
They would only change things up if they are already suffering from something and oftentimes when that happens, that is usually an indication that the problem is already at their worst stages.
If you do not want to experience that, here are a couple of things that you need to take heed:
Taking Care of Your Health
Doing things that will improve your health is actually not considered selfish. If anything, it is selfless because you are doing things that will give you more energy to spend time with your friends and family.
Before doing anything else, I want you to sit down and quiet inner self. I want you to really think about this and make a commitment to yourself that you will do whatever it takes for you to have a healthier life. Do this and everything will be so much easier.
Go See a Doctor
Going to the hospital is a notion that not everyone likes. That is because most people that you see in hospitals are people who are suffering from an illness or a complicated medical condition.
Although that is true, that should not deter you from seeing your doctor. You see, your physician is the person that you can trust when it comes to health-related concerns.
Even if you do not feel anything funky, seeing your doctor and getting regular checkups will ensure that you are really not suffering from any illness. Do not be afraid of your physician because their only intent is to help you.
Exercise to a New You
A lot of health organizations all over the world would always advocate that you increase your physical activity every week. Aim to get at least 30 minutes of physical activity during the day that increases your heart rate.
Some people would resort to buying smartwatches and fitness trackers and they would make it certain that they reach at least 10,000 steps a day. Although that is good in and of itself, you should still also add more activities that will challenge your body.
I highly recommend that you get at least 75 minutes of resistance training per week so that you will also improve your muscle mass as well.
Dieting is Not Starving
Many people believe that dieting is akin to not eating anything at all. That is actually not true. You see, our bodies are designed in a way that preserves our life. So, if you’re starving yourself- believing that you’re doing your body some service, you’re actually wrong.
Starving yourself will only lead to what is known as “Survival mode” where your body will not burn any fat in an effort to preserve your physical structure.
What can you do to maintain a healthy weight? Well, that can only be done through eating the right kinds of foods and at the right quantities.
Get a Good Night’s Sleep
A lot of men report infertility issues such as delaying ejaculation and that can actually stem from a lack of sleep. Not having good quality sleep every night not only makes you more irritable, but it can also lead to other medical conditions as well.
Aim to get at least 7 hours of rest per day, making sure that you do not sleep in front of the TV.
